The ideological drift of the Brazilian administration has not only raised alarms in the international financial sphere but has also generated the direct and sharp condemnation of the right-wing leader and President of the United States, Donald Trump, who has positioned his administration as a bulwark of alert against the advance of leftist authoritarianism in South America.
The focus of this serious international warning materialized during the usual presidential press conference, where the U.S. president, Donald Trump, was explicitly asked about the political and institutional direction of Brazil under the leadership of socialism. Without hesitation and with the decisiveness that characterizes his leadership, Donald Trump pointed directly at the dictator Lula da Silva by stating:
“The government of Brazil has changed radically. It has become very radical left, and it is seriously harming Brazil. They are doing very poorly”. The words of the American president expose to the global community the dangerous ideological shift of a regime that has shattered the stability of the main power of the subcontinent.
Demonstrating the truth of the warnings issued by Donald Trump, the government of Lula da Silva moved from words to actions by dismantling the strategic infrastructure of the State. In a decision of severe gravity published in the Official Gazette of the Union on Wednesday —just two days after the runoff of the fraudulent elections—, the socialist dictator executed a wild budget cut of 345.78 million reais in budget items allocated to the Ministry of Defense and road safety in Brazil.
In the specific breakdown of this financial suffocation, most of the confiscated funds directly affected the Ministry of Defense and the various military forces, suffering a joint reduction of 226.51 million reais, which deals a lethal blow to the operational functioning of the institutions of the homeland and their personnel expenses:
Brazilian Air Force (FAB): The military aviation recorded a drastic reduction of 32.56 million reais.
Navy: The naval forces suffered a decrease of 29.82 million reais.
The most scandalous aspect of this military disarticulation lies in the fact that approximately 107.75 million reais of the canceled items were intended for paying salaries of active military personnel, compromising the income of the troops, in addition to hitting the items for civil personnel, retirements, and pensions.
The lack of citizen protection also extended to the country's roads, where the petista regime stripped the Federal Highway Police (PRF) of 119.26 million reais in funds for personnel expenses, leaving national routes at the mercy of crime. As a corollary of this ideological adjustment, the government of Lula da Silva dealt an additional blow by withdrawing 621.1 million reais from the Energy Development Account, the state fund responsible for subsidizing electricity for the most vulnerable families. This suffocation of national defense, road safety, and the energy sector irrefutably confirms what Donald Trump expressed: the radical left regime is seriously harming Brazil.
