El Flaco Schiavi took aim at Riquelme after the dissolution of the Football Council
The former Boca defender harshly criticized Román's management and recalled his contentious departure from the club in 2019
Juan Román Riquelme's decision to dissolve the Football Council of Boca is now official: Mauricio Serna and Raúl Cascini have left their positions, while Marcelo Delgado will remain linked to the institution, although in a different role.
In response to this restructuring, Rolando Schiavi, former player of the club and former Reserve team coach, who was removed from his position in2019, shortly after the arrival of the new management, did not remain silent.
In an interview with ESPN, "Flaco" was blunt in criticizing the Council's operating scheme and Riquelme's leadership: "Even though there is talk of a manager, it's going to be more of the same, because Román will continue making the decisions. He makes all the decisions".

Schiavi also commented on the real roles held by the members of the now dissolved Council: "Chicho and Raúl had no influence, Chelo was the right-hand man. The one who has the best rapport with the players is Chelo. The Football Council was Riquelme, even if he puts up figureheads in front. It's normal for him to put people there to be criticized and save himself".
Additionally, the former defender recalled his departure from the club, which occurred just as the Ameal-Riquelme administration took office 6 years ago. According to his account, he was notified of his dismissal while he was out of the country for work reasons and did not have the opportunity to speak personally with the management.

At the time, Schiavi hinted on social media that one of the vice presidents, presumably Riquelme, denied him a meeting after his departure, which caused significant discontent.
The rift between "Flaco" and the current Xeneize leadership was deep, and today, with the dissolution of the Council, old wounds have resurfaced. For now, Riquelme is considering names to rebuild the club's professional football structure, but criticism has not been long in coming.
