Flavio Briatore spoke out after Alpine's poor debut at the Australian GP
The executive advisor of the French team spoke out on social media about his team's poor start to the season
Alpine started the 2025 F1 season on the wrong foot, as both Jack Doohan, who crashed at turn four of the first lap, and Pierre Gasly, who finished eleventh, didn't score points. One of those who spoke out was Flavio Briatore, one of the visible faces of the French team.
"It's not a good start to the season," he posted on his Instagram account. "But we remain positive and look forward to next week in China," he continued with some expectation to raise the level in the next race in Shanghai.

With the poor results in Australia, many began to speculate about the possibility of Colapinto debuting in Alpine in the not-too-distant future. The truth is that, at least for now, the Argentine driver will not see action in the upcoming races.
"Currently, Franco remains our third driver because the official team is made up of Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan. Then we'll see what happens." were the words of the Italian businessman about the situation of the native of Pilar.
He also commented on Colapinto's impact on the team: "Franco was an interesting guy for us from many points of view, even at the marketing level. For the Renault Group, the Argentine market is very strong and having Colapinto with us, who is already an idol in Argentina, will help us".
What did Doohan say after his accident?
The Australian driver is on everyone's lips due to his crash on the first lap of his home circuit and commented on what happened: "To be honest, I didn't quite understand what happened until I got back to the garage. Just looking at it, whether I was running on the white line, they simply weren't at the right temperature (referring to the tires), it seemed that when I shifted to fourth, I lost the car".

With some resentment, Doohan commented that he will learn from his mistakes: "In this sport, things happen very quickly, as we saw, and the next race is almost upon us. So it was an unfortunate way to start, but a lesson is learned. I've digested it. There are many positive things we need to take from next weekend. Unfortunately, this learning has big consequences. But I've definitely learned and I'm going to make sure it doesn't happen again".
