The recent testimony of Jason Knauf, former CEO of the Princes of Wales's foundation and close friend of the couple, revealed unpublished details about how Prince William faced Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis. In an interview for the program 60 Minutes in Australia, Knauf shared the difficult moment the heir to the throne experienced upon learning of his wife's illness.
According to Knauf, it was Prince William himself who communicated the news through a private phone call. "In a couple of weeks, you find out that both your wife and your father have cancer. I couldn't believe it. It was horrible, absolutely horrible. I had never seen him so bad", he confessed, highlighting the emotional impact the prince suffered, who would also be receiving psychological assistance.
The announcement of Kate's diagnosis was handled with extreme discretion, generating weeks of speculation about her absence from public events. Meanwhile, King Charles III's illness was reported through an official statement from Buckingham, in the case of the princess, they opted for silence until she herself announced the news in an emotional video.
