In a move with strong political and economic implications, President Javier Milei invited 10 governors to accompany him on his next trip to the United States to take part in "Argentina Week", an event that will take place in the city of New York between March 9 and 12 with the explicit goal of attracting investment to the country.
The invitation was formally issued through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by Pablo Quirno, and the Argentine Embassy to the White House, led by Alec Oxenford, who are organizing the planned activities on U.S. soil. According to the information gathered, the invited governors are Alfredo Cornejo (Mendoza), Ignacio Torres (Chubut), Marcelo Orrego (San Juan), Claudio Vidal (Santa Cruz), Rolando Figueroa (Neuquén), Raúl Jalil (Catamarca), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy) and Gustavo Sáenz (Salta). Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos) and Osvaldo Jaldo (Tucumán) were also invited.

Frigerio declined the invitation because he recently returned from an extensive tour of the United States — also in search of investment —, while Jaldo cited scheduling conflicts in his province. Most of the leaders who did confirm their attendance will travel on their own and not as part of the official delegation, although they will take part in all the activities alongside the President. "We are going on our own, but there we are going to take part in all the activities alongside the President," one of the invitees explained.
The official delegation will also include the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei; the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni; the Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger; the Minister of Health, Mario Lugones; the Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo; and the President of the Central Bank, Santiago Bausili.
Among the first to arrive in New York will be Marcelo Orrego and Claudio Vidal, who will travel directly from Canada after taking part, between March 1 and 4, in Toronto, in the summit of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), one of the most important mining gatherings in the world, which brings together more than 27,000 people from 127 countries.
"Argentina Week" will feature the presence of more than 30 CEOs from leading companies and executives from the international financial system, including representatives from JP Morgan, Bank of America, Citi, AmCham, AS/COA and the US Argentina Business Council. The scale of the event reflects the renewed interest of global capital in a country that, under libertarian leadership, has decided to abandon chronic interventionism and commit to clear rules and openness.

During that day, participants will address key issues for the bilateral relationship: strategic investment, geopolitical context and the role of the Argentine economy on the global stage. In the morning, Pablo Quirno will present on strategic investment opportunities between Argentina and the United States in the new geopolitical environment. In addition, there will be a conversation on geopolitics led by Niall Ferguson, moderated by Pierpaolo Barbieri, founder and CEO of Ualá.

The economics and capital markets block will include a dialogue between the head of the Palacio de Hacienda and Santiago Bausili, moderated by executives from JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America.
The activities will conclude with a recognition ceremony for representatives of the Argentine and U.S. private sectors and with special mentions for the "RIGI Champions," which will be presented by Caputo at the Microsoft Times Square headquarters.
