The decision disrupts the party's internal balance in Córdoba ahead of the alliance deadline for the elections

The National Electoral Chamber annulled the intervention ordered by Mauricio Macri in Córdoba's PRO and restored party control to Agost Carreño. The legislator is part of the Encuentro Federal bloc, which keeps agreements with the llaryorismo and schiarettismo. The judicial measure nullifies the appointment of Martín Yeza as the party's trustee in Córdoba.
The ruling surprised PRO leadership, since it alters negotiations that Macrismo was seeking to finalize with La Libertad Avanza in several provinces. With this decision, the formation of joint lists between both parties for the October national elections becomes more complicated. Certain sectors of PRO were even considering accepting lower positions on the list in order to reach an agreement.
Now, with the party seal once again in Agost Carreño's hands, the chances of a pact with the national government are significantly reduced. The deputy keeps a critical stance toward President Javier Milei's administration and his inner circle. He is also pursuing a sensitive judicial complaint against the Government in the Libra case, which further heightens the political tension.

Internal tension over the future of electoral alliances
Agost's return to party control makes it harder for Córdoba's PRO to reach an agreement with La Libertad Avanza. Some national operators see little room for negotiation. The legislator's close relationship with the provincial government also adds obstacles to any attempt at understanding with the Casa Rosada.
The situation disrupts Macrismo's original plans, which had been betting on a broader electoral integration to strengthen its national presence. Patricia Bullrich had encouraged that possibility by stating that "with or without the pen, we must move toward La Libertad Avanza." Her words caused internal alignments and were seen as an endorsement of the intervention process promoted by Macri.
With the court's decision, that scenario fades and opens a new chapter in PRO's internal affairs. The restoration of the party seal forces the yellow party to redefine its local electoral strategies. Meanwhile, some sectors are exploring new alternatives outside of Milei's movement and Córdoba's ruling party.

Disputes and fractures among Córdoba's PRO leaders
The Chamber's ruling exposed deep tensions between different sectors of PRO in Córdoba. Part of Macrismo unjustifiably blamed Bullrichismo for what happened. There were even internal reproaches over the judicial strategy and its lack of coordination.
In this context, the internal conflict among local leaders is escalating again and threatens to further fragment the party. The relationship between Soher El Sukaría and Laura Rodríguez Machado is at its most critical point. The confrontation between both leaders has been growing for months and could lead to new party defections.
In this context, the background is not encouraging for party unity in the province. In 2023, several leaders left PRO and joined Córdoba's ruling party. Now, less than two days before the alliance deadline, there is fear that a similar phenomenon could occur again.
