Karina Milei and Adorni launch the campaign in CABA with the chainsaw as a symbol
This marks the beginning of the electoral campaign with a clear strategy: to polarize with PRO's management
The Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, along with the presidential spokesperson and head of the list for La Libertad Avanza, Manuel Adorni, kicked off the electoral campaign with a symbolic photo at the doors of the Buenos Aires government headquarters, where they posed with a chainsaw, the emblem of the public spending cuts promoted by Javier Milei.
Campaign kickoff and dispute with PRO
The event marks the beginning of the electoral campaign heading toward May 18, with a clear strategy: to polarize with PRO's management in the City of Buenos Aires. La Libertad Avanza will seek to consolidate its presence in the district, directly confronting Macrismo in a contest that promises to be intense.
In the photo were:
- Karina Milei (Secretary General of the Presidency)
- Manuel Adorni (Presidential spokesperson and candidate)
- Pilar Ramírez (President of La Libertad Avanza in CABA)
- Solana Pelayo, Nicolás Pakgojz, Andrea Freguia, Juan Pablo Arenaza, Marina Kienast, among others.
The event coincided with an interview of Mauricio Macri in which he launched criticisms at the libertarian management. "When I hear and read that Karina Milei wants to end me and PRO, they should say 'thanks to PRO for so much generosity'," expressed the former president on radio Mitre.

The background of the electoral dispute
The tensions between PRO and La Libertad Avanza are not new. Since last year, Milei's space in the city has proposed a Basic Law for CABA, demanded budget cuts, and conditioned its approval on a greater reduction in spending.
However, what ended up deepening the dispute was PRO's decision to bring forward the Buenos Aires elections to May 18, when the strategy of the Casa Rosada was to unify the elections in October to fight together against Kirchnerism in CABA, Buenos Aires Province, and the Nation.
The chainsaw, besides being a symbol of Milei's management, has become a political tool to question the Buenos Aires administration. From La Libertad Avanza, they argue that high levels of political spending still persist in the city, which has created a new point of friction with the head of Government, Jorge Macri.

PRO reorganizes to face the libertarians
In response to the libertarian advance, PRO decided to respond with a list headed by Silvia Lospennato, accompanied by key figures of the space. The strategy is to resist what some in Macrismo call "Karina Milei's guillotine" and, at the same time, to mark differences with Kirchnerism, whose electoral bet in the city will be Leandro Santoro.
This scenario sets up a central dispute in Buenos Aires politics, where the battle between PRO and La Libertad Avanza will define the future of the opposition space in the City of Buenos Aires.
