The ultra-Kirchnerist Florencia Carignano directly attacked the central desk where the stenographers work

The session convened in the Chamber of Deputies to debate the Government's Labor Modernization Law of Javier Milei began with an atmosphere of strong tension and disorder, with legislators from Unión por la Patria and from the Frente de Izquierda harassing the president of the body, Martín Menem, affecting the normal development of the parliamentary debate.

The conflict began when the head of the lower house gave the floor to the deputy from Salta of La Libertad Avanza, Carlos Zapata, which caused the immediate reaction of the opposition blocs, which were demanding a roll-call vote previously requested by the head of the Kirchnerist bloc, Germán Martínez. The legislators accused Menem of "denying the floor" and of "endorsing the officialist labor plan".

Amid the growing tension, several opposition deputies left their seats and went to the presidential platform to directly harass the head of the Chamber. Among those who moved toward the center of the chamber were Julia Strada, Jorge Araujo Hernández, Agustín Rossi, Mario Manrique, Lorena Pokoik, Aldo Leiva, and Nicolás del Caño, who staged an embarrassing spectacle in the middle of the chamber while the rest of the session was engulfed in chaos.

The Kirchnerist attempt at boycott

However, the most serious episode occurred when the ultra-Kirchnerist deputy Florencia Carignano, a member of La Cámpora within Unión por la Patria, approached the central table where the stenographers work.

According to the record, the legislator moved up to the place and began to manipulate the power supply cables and the internet connection used for the official recording of the session, in a boycott maneuver aimed at obstructing the institutional functioning of the parliamentary debate.

The situation was recorded on video by libertarian deputy Lilia Lemoine, who directly confronted Carignano when she noticed what was happening. "Carignano, what are you doing? You were recorded, you crazy piece of work", she shouted at her while she was filming the moment. The audiovisual record was later publicly disseminated on social media.

Lemoine, who shared the video through her account on the social network X, expressed her repudiation of the episode and demanded institutional consequences. "This is unacceptable! Look at how she approaches pretending to be distracted... this can't go unnoticed, there have to be sanctions", she stated.

The episode caused strong repudiation on social media and deepened the tense atmosphere during the consideration of one of the most relevant initiatives promoted by Milei's Government, which seeks to promote registered employment and bring millions of workers out of informality.
