After being crowned champion of the Copa Sudamericana, Lanús already has its confirmed opponent for the 2026 Recopa Sudamericana: Flamengo, the brand-new four-time Copa Libertadores champion after narrowly defeating Palmeiras in the final held this Saturday.
The showdown between the two continental champions will once again be played in a two-legged format. The first match will take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at La Fortaleza, while the return leg will be held one week later, on February 25, at the Maracanã stadium.

For Lanús, this will be its second appearance in the Recopa. The previous one was in 2014, when it fell in a dramatic series against Atlético Mineiro in Belo Horizonte. Flamengo, meanwhile, arrives with more recent experience in the tournament: it played two editions against Independiente del Valle, winning the title in 2020 and finishing as runner-up in 2023.
