On May 30, Leopoldo Luque, known for having been Diego Maradona's personal physician, was involved in a violent incident with a journalist. The incident occurred shortly after the trial for the death of the former footballer was declared null.
Luque, who is under investigation in the case analyzing whether there was malpractice in the days leading up to Maradona's death, reacted furiously to the presence of a reporter at the door of his house.
Tension at the door: a confrontation that escalated
Bruno, the reporter for the program Desayuno Americano (América), tried to obtain a statement from the neurosurgeon after the court ruling. However, he received insults and threats from Luque.
"I'm telling you nicely, don't come here to bother me," the doctor warned him, visibly upset, before entering his home. The scene was captured by the cameras of the program hosted by Pamela David.
Luque, increasingly agitated, insisted that he would not speak. "Not at my house. My children are here," he said while aggressively pointing at the journalist, angrily repeating that he should not come closer.
Threat and physical aggression against the reporter
In the midst of the argument, Bruno asked him about the recent suspension of the trial. "I'm not bothering you," he replied calmly, trying to deescalate the situation.
