The second generation of Pokémon is officially joining Pokémon TCG Pocket. The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the new expansion of the popular mobile game will be titled Marine and Sky Saber, and will be available starting July 30 at no additional cost. The update promises content for both collectors and competitive players, with new cards, revamped trading features, and brand-new mechanics in the app.
The legendary Lugia and Ho-Oh lead this expansion that puts Johto Pokémon at the center of the game, thus continuing the gradual incorporation of classic generations.
Johto arrives with its starters and key gameplay changes
With this update, the starters Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile will be available in the game, expanding the range of options for trainers. The expansion introduces, for the first time, attacks that do not require energy to execute, a mechanic that can drastically change the pace of the game in the early rounds.
Additionally, the trading system is being modernized: trading tokens are disappearing and are replaced by the new resource, iris dust, which will allow for smoother trades between players. The feature to display wanted cards on the profile is also enabled, making the bartering process within the community easier.
