The cycle of Luís Advíncula at Boca has come to an end. In the last few hours, the Peruvian right back agreed with the board on the termination of his contract (valid until December 2026), he will leave the club as a free agent, and everything seems to indicate that he will continue his career in his country's football, with Alianza Lima as an almost confirmed destination.
The decision was agreed upon by both parties and replied to a combination of sporting and personal factors. At 35 years of age, Advíncula had been evaluating for some time the possibility of returning to Peru, and the scenario was finally defined in the middle of preseason. This time, the financial issue stopped being the main obstacle and, combined with a significant personal reason, accelerated a departure that took place earlier than expected.
From a football standpoint, the last stretch of the "Rayo"'s cycle was far from his best version. After having been a key piece in 2023, especially in the campaign that took the team to the Copa Libertadores final, his performance declined and in 2025 he lost prominence. At the end of the season, he ended up relegated in the coaching staff's consideration and became a substitute.
