The mayor of Marcos Juárez breaks with PRO and openly supports LLA
The mayor announced her support for Milei and distanced herself from the leadership of the provincial PRO, led by Agost Carreño
The mayor of Marcos Juárez, Sara Majorel from PRO, announced that she will support La Libertad Avanza's ticket in the October elections. With this decision, she distanced herself from the leadership of PRO Córdoba, headed by Oscar Agost Carreño. The statement was released through an official release.
Majorel recalled that in 2023 PRO supported Javier Milei in the runoff and stated that this direction represents fiscal balance and stability. According to the municipal leader, that approach enabled concrete progress despite initial difficulties. For this reason, she defended continuing the alliance with the national government.
The mayor emphasized that what is at stake is "not the parties or the positions, but the country's future." She also listed challenges such as lowering taxes, modernizing labor laws, and expanding productive credit. She also called for measures to strengthen domestic consumption.

Break with the provincial PRO
In her message, Majorel stressed that PRO of Marcos Juárez will support the libertarian ticket that includes local Macri-aligned leaders. She clarified that she doesn't recognize as her own the ticket led by Agost Carreño in Córdoba. According to her explanation, the provincial leadership departed from the political path she defends.
The statement referred to Carreño's decision to break with PRO's bloc of deputies in 2023 and join another coalition. For Majorel, this is why she justified her alignment with Milei's movement.
The leader called for unity and tolerance to advance the reforms Argentina needs. She asserted that the political work of recent years should not be wasted and called for unified efforts. She emphasized that citizens' demands require deep change.

Bornoroni's support
Majorel's statement was welcomed by Gabriel Bornoroni, president of La Libertad Avanza's interbloc in the Chamber of Deputies. The Córdoba leader thanked her decision and highlighted the importance of adding support to Milei's project. He did so through a message on social media.
Bornoroni stated that the only way to stop Kirchnerism and its allies is by consolidating the unity of the sectors that support the Government. He emphasized that Majorel's gesture strengthens the libertarian presence in Córdoba. He also valued her decision as a political signal of great impact.
Marcos Juárez was considered the "kilometer zero" of PRO after Pedro Dellarossa's victory in 2014. That triumph marked the beginning of Macri-aligned expansion in the interior. Today, with Majorel at the helm, the municipality becomes a stronghold that La Libertad Avanza seeks to capitalize on.
