Marcos Rojo indicated until when Mariano Herrón would be Boca's coach.
In an interview, the Xeneize defender commented that there was a conversation with the interim coach where the duration of his cycle was clarified
Despite no official confirmation from the club or its leaders, it seems that Mariano Herrón's interim position has an expiration date. The one who revealed this information was Marcos Rojo, who, in an interview with ESPN, confirmed that the coach will be in charge of the first team until the end of the Apertura.

The defender explained how the club communicated with the squad. "Since I think I arrived at Boca, Marian was already here. I know him a lot, he's a great coach, he knows a lot about soccer, he's a great person who works a lot, who is here helping us and today he confirmed everything to us, he spoke in front of the group, I think, I don't know if you already know, that he confirmed to us that he was going to be the coach in these matches, for the rest of the Cup," he stated.
Rojo then made it clear that the squad supports Herrón in this stage. "So that we also have the certainty that we are going to work with him, that we have to move forward, that we have to help him, that he is here to help us and we are here to help him and try to do our best so that Boca becomes the champion of this cup," he argued.

When asked what would happen if Boca wins the title, Rojo reiterated that the only confirmed thing is Herrón's leadership during this stage: "He confirmed to us this morning that for the remainder of this cup he will be in charge of the group. In soccer, you never know anything. But yes, he will be the coach, as I tell you, for the rest of the cup. I hope it will be until the final."
It should be remembered that this is the fourth time Mariano Herrón has taken on the role of interim coach of the professional team, having previously replaced Hugo Ibarra, Jorge Almirón, Diego Martínez, and now, Fernando Gago.
Rojo's other statements
One of the topics the Boca defender addressed in his interview on F90 was the pressure they feel after being eliminated in Phase 2 of the Libertadores. "After what happened with the Libertadores, we are obliged to become champions. It seems that only Boca feels the pressure and no one else, that we are the only ones who always have to win. But it's not easy, if I, who am 35 years old, feel the pressure, imagine the young guys," he commented.

He also compared it to his experience in Europe: "At Manchester United, the biggest in England, we would lose and people would ask you for photos. Here it's not like that, things aren't so easy when things aren't going well, you have to be mentally strong."
He also spoke about Xeneize's participation in the Club World Cup. "The group we got is very even, except for Bayern Munich. I'm aware that we could easily advance from the group. We define a large part of the group with Benfica in the first match. We have to get a good result and see what happens next. Advancing the phase would be very nice for us," the player declared.

Finally, he also referred to the future: "I have a contract until December, I haven't thought or talked to anyone. There's a lot of trust with Román (Riquelme) and with the guys from the Council. I don't know what their plans are, but whether it's to stay or leave, there won't be any problem, it will be decided at the moment and it will be quick. If they want me to stay, I'll stay, and if not, I'll shake hands and go my way, it's no big deal."
