An independent video game with a medieval setting achieved unexpected international notoriety after it ended up at the center of a social media controversy linked to ideology and representation in the gaming industry. It is Knight’s Path, a project in development that went from being practically unknown to becoming a trending topic on platforms like X and Steam.
The trigger was a response from the developer to a user who asked whether the game would include LGBTQ representation. From the project’s official account, the reply was brief and forceful: the team focuses on the game and fun, not on modern agendas. The message caused an immediate reaction. While sectors of digital activism accused the studio of exclusion and "lack of sensitivity," thousands of players publicly came out to support the stance.

Far from harming the project, the controversy acted as a visibility accelerator. In just 16 days since the publication of its page on Steam, Knight’s Path surpassed 100,000 additions to wishlists, an exceptional number for an indie development without major marketing campaigns behind it.
