In his morning show, Granados dedicated several minutes to addressing the controversy surrounding inflated metrics with bots. Although he acknowledged that the two channels exchanged passive-aggressive comments, he emphatically denied resorting to fraudulent practices. "I swear on my children that neither Olga nor anyone here used bots," he stated.
The host emphasized that they don't know how those services are contracted and that, according to what he was informed, acquiring bots would cost about 10,000 dollars. "With that money, I'd rather go to Paris," he joked.
A conflict fueled by networks and fandoms
Granados acknowledged his provocative style, but pointed out that social networks and fandoms intensified the conflict. He explained that both channels made indirect comments that were amplified by followers on networks, which ended up creating a "snowball."
In that sense, he explicitly asked his followers not to viralize or respond to attacks. "Let's stop bashing. If someone has to do it, let it be me," he said, referring to the type of interaction that usually triggers massive online discussions.
He also detailed that he spoke with Alejandro Fantino and other journalists who had echoed the topic to clarify his position. He even met with Flavio Azzaro to show him that there was no manipulation of figures. "We're both obsessed with the same little ball, it's just that I say it out loud," he summarized.
