Miguel Ángel Russo's son broke his silence and spoke about his father's health.

Amid rumors about a possible resignation of Boca's head coach, Ignacio Russo, Tigre's forward stepped out to clarify the situation

Amid the deep football crisis that Boca is going through, with a historic streak of eleven matches without victories, rumors began circulating on social media about the health of Miguel Ángel Russo, the current first team coach and one of the main figures targeted for the team's poor present.

The rumors intensified after the release of a video showing the coach struggling to climb a staircase during the press conference following the 1-0 defeat against Huracán at the Tomás A. Ducó stadium. However, the family circle stepped forward to clarify the situation.

In a conversation with DSports Radio, Ignacio Russo, the coach's son and current Tigre player, was blunt: "My father is in good health, he's happy, he's content. Many things are said in excess, but that's how Boca's world is."

The comments about his health have a real, but already overcome, precedent. In 2017, when he was coaching Millonarios of Colombia, Russo was diagnosed with prostate cancer, a disease he managed to overcome while still leading the team, even winning the championship shortly after receiving chemotherapy treatment.

Regarding this, his son added: "I see him well and that gives me peace of mind. Much is said because he doesn't say anything either, he doesn't have to. He has to try to win the next match and calm the things that are being said."

Boca and a tense internal atmosphere

Meanwhile, in Boca's day-to-day, Russo is seen with the necessary strength to support the group, although at times he leads from a distance and relies on his assistants Claudio Úbeda and Juvenal Rodríguez.

In sports terms, the match against Racing could mark a turning point or the end of his third spell as the club's coach. The locker room is tense due to dissatisfied players, internal conflicts, and controversial departures such as those of Marcos Rojo, Cristian Lema, and Marcelo Saracchi.

Amid this turbulent scenario, Russo's health doesn't seem to be in doubt, at least according to those who know him best.
