National Minister of Health, Mario Lugones highlighted the modernization of the food control system carried out by the Javier Milei government.
The official stated that with the elimination of CONAL and the update of the Argentine Food Code, safe food and a transparent system are guaranteed.
"Through decree 538/25, we eliminated the National Food Commission (CONAL) and simplified the update of the Argentine Food Code to put an end to unnecessary obstacles and accelerate evidence-based decisions," Lugones said.

The minister emphasized the importance of the National Government redefining the role of the country's main technical agencies, such as the National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) and the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa).
"From now on, ANMAT, through INAL, together with SENASA, will be directly responsible for control, without intermediaries or structures that only delayed processes. Digitization, traceability, and 15-day deadlines to solve procedures: clear and agile rules," he posted on the social network X.

"This is one more step we are taking to guarantee safe food and a transparent system, protecting the health of Argentinians," he concluded.
