Bruno Zuculini is now officially a new player for Nacional de Uruguay. The 33-year-old Argentine midfielder, who arrives after a successful stint at Racing, was presented by the tricolor team.
Through its social media, the reigning Uruguayan champion announced the signing with a welcome message: "Welcome to the Uruguayan champion, Bruno!", accompanied by the first official image of the player in the club's colors.
The former captain of Racing, where he won the Copa Sudamericana and the Recopa Sudamericana, has been working for several days with the squad at the Ciudad Deportiva Los Céspedes, under the orders of the coaching staff.
Upon his arrival in Montevideo, Zuculini expressed his enthusiasm for this new challenge and stated that wearing Nacional's jersey represents an important step in his career. "I am excited, very happy, and grateful to arrive at a club with such history. I want to contribute my experience and be part of that history," he said.
The midfielder also revealed that Nacional's interest is not recent. He mentioned that the club tried to sign him several times over the past few years, but only now have the conditions allowed the operation to be finalized.
"I had spoken a while ago with Álvaro Recoba, and at that time it couldn't happen. Nacional always maintained interest, and that was very important in making the decision," he explained.
In that sense, he particularly highlighted the work of sporting director Sebastián Eguren, whom he credited with a decisive role in finalizing his signing.
"For several years, they were attentive to my situation and always handled things with a lot of respect. When the opportunity arose again, I had no doubts and decided to accept," he stated.
