Netflix unexpectedly released the first trailer for The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the project that brings back Brad Pitt in the role that led him to win the Oscar. The film works as a direct spin-off from the Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood universe, but without the direction of Quentin Tarantino.
The preview makes the bet clear: same central character, new narrative board and a more irreverent tone.

A project with a different course
The script is based on an original idea by Tarantino, although this time the creative control remains in the hands of David Fincher. The change of director marks a strong aesthetic and narrative shift.
Netflix provides the production muscle and aims for a hybrid-release run. The strategy would be a brief theatrical window before its arrival on streaming in 2026, with awards season also in its sights.
A time jump that redefines Cliff Booth
The story would move to the 70s and early 80s, leaving behind the Hollywood of the late 60s. That change of era forces the character to relocate himself in an industry that is changing at full speed.
