The Defense Forces of Israel (IDF) carried out a new operation in southern Lebanon in which they neutralized Hezbollah terrorists who were attempting to reactivate military infrastructure in direct violation of the current agreements between both countries. The action took place on Sunday in the town of Yater, in the Bint Jbeil district, an area historically used by the terrorist group for armed activities against Israel.
According to authorities from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, the attack left one dead and one injured after two airstrikes targeted a vehicle and a motorcycle. From Israel, the IDF reported that the target was a Hezbollah member involved in covert military reconstruction tasks.
Israel reported an attempt by Hezbollah to rearm

In an official statement, the Israeli Army stated that the eliminated terrorist was restoring military infrastructure in southern Lebanon, which constitutes a serious violation of the ceasefire agreed between Israel and Lebanon at the end of November 2023.
"The IDF eliminated a terrorist who was working to reestablish the military capabilities of the terrorist organization Hezbollah", the military report indicated, in which it was also reaffirmed that Israel will continue to act to neutralize any threat to its sovereignty and the security of its citizens.
From Jerusalem, officials emphasize that this type of operation is not offensive but rather preventive action, intended to prevent Hezbollah — financed and armed by Iran — from consolidating military positions near the Israeli border.
Constant operations despite the ceasefire
Although the ceasefire remains formally in force, Israel has reported repeated violations by Hezbollah. According to official data, the IDF has killed 380 members of the terrorist group since the beginning of the truce and has recorded more than 1,900 breaches of the agreement by the Shiite organization.
