Nissan is preparing a new affordable SUV based on the Kicks Play
Nissan is already testing its upcoming entry-level SUV, based on the Kicks Play. It will be launched in 2026 and will be produced in Brazil
Nissan is already working on a new entry-level SUV for the region, which will be based on the well-known Kicks Play.
The first images and renderings show a significant redesign. It will be produced in Brazil and will coexist with the new generation of Kicks.

What is known about the design of Nissan's new SUV?
This model will be an evolution of the Kicks Play, but with key changes to its exterior design. It will be focused on offering a more affordable option within the brand's catalog.
Test units are already circulating in Brazil, with heavy camouflage hiding its new lines. Nevertheless, digital renderings have begun to emerge, allowing us to imagine what its final appearance will be like.
Kleber Silva's renderings
Designer Kleber Silva, known as K Design, published rendered images of the possible final design. According to these representations, the front and rear will have notable changes compared to the original model.

The visual modifications aim to modernize the SUV's style without completely altering the original silhouette of the first-generation Kicks.
When will it be launched and where will it be produced?
According to Auto Esporte, the official presentation of the model will take place in Brazil during the course of this year. It will also be manufactured there.

The commercial launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, which indicates that it is already in an advanced stage of development.
Mechanics: what engine will it have?
Everything indicates that it will retain the well-known V platform from the original Kicks. The mechanics would also follow the same line, with the 1.6 four-cylinder engine.
This engine delivers 120 horsepower and has already been tested in several markets in the region. It would be a reliable option to keep costs low.

What place will it occupy in Nissan's line-up?
This new SUV will not replace the second-generation Kicks. Rather, it will accompany it as a more affordable alternative in the regional catalog.
The new generation of Kicks, more modern and expensive, will arrive in Argentina only at the end of 2025. This cheaper model would arrive later, covering another segment.

Will it have another name?
There is no official confirmation for now, but it is possible that Nissan will give it a new name to differentiate it from the original Kicks.
