In a context of strong economic recovery, a recent report by the consulting firm Econométrica highlights that the average number of salaries needed to buy a car dropped to 18 in July, the lowest level recorded in the last six years.
This progress is mainly due to the policies implemented by the government of Javier Milei, which have reduced inflation, boosted real wage growth, and lowered taxes, making it easier for Argentinians to access goods.

The study, based on data from the Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (ACARA) and the Ministry of Economy, analyzes the evolution of the automotive market. As can be seen, the peak was reached in February 2024, with 32.7 salaries, amid the severe economic crisis inherited from Kirchnerismo.
Since then, the trend has reversed drastically, thanks to measures such as economic deregulation, fiscal balance, and the promotion of market freedom.
Key reforms include the reopening of lines of credit, opening up imports, and price normalization, which have increased the supply of brands and models in the market. This has intensified competition among dealerships, resulting in more affordable prices in relative terms.

In addition, the macroeconomic stability achieved under Milei's administration has contributed to greater predictability, stimulating demand and the purchasing power of wages.
Meanwhile, during the first half of 2025, there were significant increases in vehicle registrations, production, wholesale sales, and exports. These figures reflect a solid recovery of the automotive market, aligned with the Milei government's goal of promoting economic growth.
