The Astronomical Observatory of Córdoba opened its cultural agenda with activities that include lectures, guided tours, and telescopic observations. The goal is to invite the entire community to discover advances in astronomy and enjoy the Cordoban sky in a unique setting. There will be free and paid activities, all designed to bring science closer in a clear and participatory way.
On Friday the 26th at 8:00 p.m., the lecture "New worlds, new questions: 30 years of exoplanets" will be held in the Mirta Mosconi auditorium. The activity will be led by astronomer Carolina Chavero, who will present a review of the most recent findings in the search for planets outside the solar system. Admission is free of charge, which guarantees open access to knowledge for all ages.
Attendees will also be able to tour the Observatory's facilities and learn firsthand about the work carried out there every day. If weather permits, there will be opportunities for observation with telescopes that will allow for a detailed appreciation of the night sky. This direct experience complements the lectures and connects the public with scientific practice.
Si el clima lo permite, habrá instancias de observación con telescopios
Astronomical experiences in Bosque Alegre
The Astrophysical Station of Bosque Alegre, in Falda del Carmen, will be another key location for this cultural and scientific initiative. There, guided night visits will be held, including observations of Saturn and other celestial bodies with high-powered telescopes. The events are scheduled for Friday the 26th from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Saturday the 27th (sold out), and Sunday the 28th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Ticket prices start at 4,000 pesos (8.8 pounds), a cost intended to support the activities and ensure visitor accessibility. In addition to observing the sky, the public will be able to tour the grounds and learn about the station's history, a key piece in Argentine astronomy. These visits offer a unique combination of science, nature, and culture in one place.
With this program, Córdoba is consolidating its position as a leader in astronomical outreach and public access to scientific knowledge. The Observatory combines academic research with open activities that enrich students, families, and tourists. This way, the province adds a cultural initiative that combines education, technology, and great experiences under the stars.
