While River focuses on the clash against Ciudad de Bolívar for the round of 64 of the Copa Argentina, its schedule in the Torneo Apertura is also beginning to take shape. One of the upcoming commitments for the Núñez side is the visit to Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, which was recently shrouded in a veil of uncertainty.
In recent days, there had been reports about a possible change of venue. Estadio Ciudad de Río Cuarto Antonio Candini, with a capacity for 12,000 spectators, seemed too small given the expectations caused by the presence of Marcelo Gallardo's team and the possibility of higher revenue. That's why Estadio Parque La Pedrera, in Villa Mercedes, San Luis, with a capacity for 28,000 people and located approximately 130 kilometers (80.8 miles) away, had been mentioned as an alternative.
However, after several twists and turns, the board of the León del Imperio ultimately decided to keep the home venue at its own stadium. The club's president, Alicio Dagatti, confirmed it through his social media accounts: "The Imperio and all its people will welcome El Millonario in a historic encounter. Estudiantes RC vs. River Plate will be played at Estadio Ciudad de Río Cuarto".
