While River focuses on the clash against Ciudad de Bolívar for the round of 64 of the Copa Argentina, its schedule in the Torneo Apertura is also beginning to take shape. One of the upcoming commitments for the Núñez side is the visit to Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, which was recently shrouded in a veil of uncertainty.

In recent days, there had been reports about a possible change of venue. Estadio Ciudad de Río Cuarto Antonio Candini, with a capacity for 12,000 spectators, seemed too small given the expectations caused by the presence of Marcelo Gallardo's team and the possibility of higher revenue. That's why Estadio Parque La Pedrera, in Villa Mercedes, San Luis, with a capacity for 28,000 people and located approximately 130 kilometers (80.8 miles) away, had been mentioned as an alternative.

However, after several twists and turns, the board of the León del Imperio ultimately decided to keep the home venue at its own stadium. The club's president, Alicio Dagatti, confirmed it through his social media accounts: "The Imperio and all its people will welcome El Millonario in a historic encounter. Estudiantes RC vs. River Plate will be played at Estadio Ciudad de Río Cuarto".

This way, the match will be played at Antonio Candini, the venue that Estudiantes has used since October 1938. Meanwhile, this will be the second time in its history that River will play a match there. The last record dates back to the 1984 Torneo Nacional, a match that ended in a 2-2 draw.

The furious post by Estudiantes de Río Cuarto's president after the rout against Atlético Tucumán

After the harsh 0-4 defeat against El Decano, the fourth in five matches, Dagatti posted a statement on social media that quickly went viral.

The executive expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's current situation since its return to the top division with a direct message: "The toughest defeat in my 12 years of management. In Primera, results define the club's future. Wearing Estudiantes de Río Cuarto's jersey with pride is NON-NEGOTIABLE. No words".

With only one point in five matchdays, and although the season is just beginning, the León del Imperio must recover if it hopes to remain in the division that took it so many years to return to.
