OpenAI confirmed that before the end of the year ChatGPT will begin to allow adult content and erotic conversations. This was announced by its CEO, Sam Altman, in a post on X, where he explained that the company seeks to "treat adults as adults".
The change will arrive in December, along with a new age verification system and customized tools according to user preferences. Only those who prove they are of legal age will be able to access the erotic, sensual fiction and explicit chat features.

An opening that divides the technology sector
Altman explained that, for years, ChatGPT maintained strict restrictions "as a precaution", especially on mental health topics. However, according to the entrepreneur, the company now has sufficient tools to reduce risks and offer a safer environment.
The shift comes in a context of fierce competition in generative artificial intelligence. The decision is reminiscent of Elon Musk, whose chatbot Grok already allows conversations with sexual content. Analysts state that this move aims to retain premium subscribers and maintain its economic growth.
