The most emblematic trophy in world soccer will once again set foot on Argentine soil before the 2026 World Cup. As part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, the original World Cup trophy will arrive in the City of Buenos Aires on Friday, February 20, offering fans the chance to see it up close at a unique event.
The exhibition will take place at the La Rural grounds, between 9 and 20. There, organizers will present interactive and immersive experiences designed to celebrate soccer passion and to relive, in particular, the emotions of Argentina's triumph.
The visit is part of the international tour that accompanies the countdown to the next World Cup, which will mark a milestone in the history of the tournament, since it will be the first edition jointly organized by three countries (United States, Mexico, and Canada) and also the largest to date, with an increase in the number of national teams, matches, and host cities.
The trophy's global journey, driven by Coca-Cola, includes a total of 75 stops over more than 150 days and passes through 30 FIFA member associations. In Latin America, the tour includes eight countries and allows thousands of fans to enjoy a close experience with the most desired prize in soccer.
La Copa del Mundo pasará por 30 países antes del inicio del Mundial 2026
Before arriving in Argentina, the trophy will visit Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, and Ecuador. After its stop in Buenos Aires, the trophy will continue its journey through Uruguay and Brazil, with stops in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília. Finally, the final stage of the tour will take place in different cities in Mexico, already in the lead-up to the start of the 2026 World Cup.
The exceptional nature of the event is also explained by a historical particularity. The original trophy only leaves the FIFA Museum in Switzerland during the World Cup and as part of this official tour.
