Experts from the Rural Extension Agency INTA Jesús María warned about the presence of the "chicharrita," a pest that affects corn in the north of Córdoba.
The survey was carried out in fields in the north and although, for now, its prevalence is low, it is recommended to monitor in order to identify the vector in a timely manner.

According to what they reported, mainly, the summer weather and the progress of late corn sowing would have favored the appearance of the insects.
The alert is in line with the biweekly report of the National Monitoring Network of Dalbulus maidis, which indicated that the current scenario for now "is not a cause for concern, but it is a cause for action."
"Chicharrita" in corn fields in northern Córdoba
From the Rural Extension Agency (AER) INTA Jesús María, they reported that recent monitoring has confirmed the presence of the vector in a field in the area, with an initial prevalence of 0.5% being recorded.
Precisely, it is worth mentioning that according to the National Monitoring Network, in the Center-North region, within which most of the territory of Córdoba is included, population increases of the vector have begun to be recorded.
According to that report, 58% of the localities monitored in that area did not record detections, while 29% showed low captures, falling into the category of 1 to 4 adults per trap.
