World Rugby recently confirmed the full schedule for the group stage of the Australia 2027 World Cup and Los Pumas already know when and where they will face their rivals in Group C, a pool they share with Canada, Spain and Fiji.
The Argentine national team, which was a seeded team due to its sixth place in the world rankings, will make its debut on Monday, October 4 against Canada, from 5:45 (Argentina time), in Brisbane. The second match will be on Sunday 10 against Spain, at 1:15 in the early morning, in Melbourne, while the end of the initial phase will be on Friday 15 against Fiji, from 23:45, in Adelaide, in a clash that appears to be key to defining the final positions in the group.

It should be remembered that the tournament will be played from October 1 to November 13 and will feature for the first time 24 national teams, distributed in six groups of four teams. The main novelty of the format will be the inclusion of the round of 16, a stage that will be reached by the top two in each pool and the four best third-placed teams.
Meanwhile, Argentina appears to be well positioned to advance to the knockout stage. On paper, Fiji emerges as the most demanding rival in the group, although it is a team that Los Pumas can defeat. In the last World Cup, the Fijians surprised Australia and Wales, but they were eliminated in the quarterfinals after losing to England.
If Los Pumas finish first in Group C, in the round of 16 they will face one of the best third-placed teams from Groups A, E or F, with possible matchups against national teams such as Samoa or Tonga. If they finish second, the path would lead them to a potentially demanding clash against Wales, as happened in France 2023, or, in the worst-case scenario, England, to whom they lost the third-place match in that edition.
