A leaked document of nearly 800 pages revealed the scope of the military agreement between Russia and China to strengthen the airborne capabilities of the People's Liberation Army. The material, authenticated by the British think tank Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), shows that the pact includes the sale of armored vehicles, anti-tank cannons, and personnel carriers, as well as the transfer of military technology.
The most sensitive detail is that Russian instructors are already training a Chinese paratrooper battalion, both on Russian territory and at training grounds in China. According to experts Oleksandr V. Danylyuk and Jack Watling, this collaboration aims to prepare elite forces capable of infiltrating enemy territory undetected, with offensive potential against Taiwan, the Philippines, and other island states in the region.
Military training and risk over Taiwan
According to RUSI, airborne training represents a key area where Moscow still retains a technological advantage. For Beijing, improving this capability would allow it to deploy troops and critical equipment in the initial phases of a potential attack on Taiwan, a self-governed island it claims as its own.

The documents also confirm that China received technological licenses that will allow it to manufacture weapons similar to those acquired, thus expanding its military autonomy.
