With the summer break of the Formula 1 just days away from concluding, and with an eye on the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix, Franco Colapinto shared on his social media some images of how he enjoyed his break from the category alongside José María "Pechito" López.
"The fun is over, let’s go back. All set, can’t wait for some races", wrote the 23-year-old Argentine to accompany the album with various moments from his vacation in France.
During his vacation, the native of Pilar combined leisure and physical activity. Along with López, with whom he has maintained a friendship for years and shares bicycle training, he visited various places during his days off. The bond between them was also strengthened by their proximity in Monaco, where they often meet for physical workouts.
The break also included some particular treats. The Alpine driver showed his visit to a café and a bakery, where he prepared croissants and enjoyed dulce de leche, one of his classic favorites. Additionally, he shared an image watching the lunar eclipse on August 12 with special glasses and another with a dog.
Among the snapshots, an Argentine detail caught attention: a new mate decorated with Lionel Messi stickers, which also appeared in the driver’s posts.
Beyond the moments of relaxation, Colapinto did not neglect his preparation for the second half of the season. During the break, he continued with his physical training and also worked with the engineers and mechanics of Alpine in the simulator.
When Colapinto returns to racing
After the race on Hungarian soil, Formula 1 will take a break for the summer holidays. In this sense, the category will return in one month with the Dutch Grand Prix. Action at the Zandvoort circuit will kick off on Friday, August 21 with a single free practice and the Sprint qualifying, and will conclude on Sunday, 23 with the main race.
In his only appearance on Dutch territory driving in the top category, Colapinto narrowly missed the points zone with an 11th place.
