The institutional situation of San Lorenzo has added a new chapter and, this time, with a judicial ruling that clarifies the immediate scenario. Meanwhile, the transitional government led by Sergio Costantino is beginning to organize itself to face the coming months, the courts rejected the request filed by Marcelo Moretti to reverse the state of leaderless vacancy declared in the club.
The now former president had turned to Civil Court No. 51 with the aim of having alleged irregularities in the last Board of Directors meeting reviewed, a strategy similar to the one that he had already used months earlier. If it had gone forward, the measure could have nullified both the declaration of leaderless vacancy and the subsequent members' assembly, and could have returned the institutional situation to a previous point. However, the ruling was clear: the court did not find sufficient grounds to move forward with the request and the injunction was dismissed.
With this decision, what was recently decided by the members is ratified, who approved in an assembly the appointment of Costantino as president and set May 30, 2026 as the date for the extraordinary elections. The judicial confirmation gives formal backing to the new leadership, which will now be able to focus on management without the immediate constraint of a possible institutional reversal.
