The foundation led by Ashley Biden, the daughter of former Democratic President Joe Biden, faces a formal complaint with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) after failing to publicly disclose a $250,000 donation received in 2023 from the Archewell Foundation, founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The complaint was filed by the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), a conservative group, which accused Biden's organization, Women's Wellness (Spa)ce, of violating tax transparency rules by not reporting this donation, which constitutes a failure to meet disclosure requirements for nonprofit organizations.
2023 was a key year for the center, which presents itself as a "trauma-informed wellness center" located in Philadelphia. According to NLPC attorney Paul Kamenar, the Archewell donation, which was the largest for the organization that year, was not included in the 990 tax forms that Ashley Biden submitted to the IRS.
Kamenar also questioned Ashley's salary, who supposedly works 40 hours a week for only $12.75 an hour, a figure he considers inconsistent with her education and work experience.

The $250,000 donation was detailed in Archewell's tax filings, which allowed the information to come to light. According to those documents, the contribution was intended to "create a safe space focused on the wellness of women who have experienced trauma."
However, it was not properly reported in the tax records of Women's Wellness (Spa)ce, raising suspicions about the financial transparency of Ashley Biden's organization.
Kamenar also indicated that the organization made other errors in its IRS filing, such as discrepancies in the number of board members, and an apparent overstatement in the report on the hours worked by Ashley, whose salary seems inconsistent with a full-time workload.
Additionally, it was mentioned that the organization did not disclose sufficient details about how the Archewell donation was used and what the money was spent on.
