Local labor unions will block the streets to defend an archaic system against Milei's necessary reform

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 11, the city of Córdoba will once again suffer the actions of unions that systematically oppose labor modernization. The local CGT and both CTAs have called for a demonstration at 11:00 a.m. to sustain a model that only generates poverty and informality. These sectors, far from representing honest workers, operate as an extortion machinery that fears losing its privileges in the face of change.
Unions such as Luz y Fuerza, La Bancaria, and Judiciales have announced a total work stoppage, directly affecting the productivity and daily life of residents. The demonstration will begin with a leaflet distribution at 10:00 a.m. in San Martín and Vélez Sarsfield squares, hindering the free flow of local traffic. This way, these groups will continue defending an obsolete regulatory framework that keeps almost 50% of Argentines in total precariousness.
During tomorrow's day, the downtown streets will be in absolute chaos due to the arrogance of unions that ignore society's exhaustion. Thousands of Córdoba residents will face delays and complications in getting to their jobs because of union leadership that always prefers conflict. This method of taking over streets and applying pressure shows that Córdoba unionism (and unionism in general) is lagging behind and has become the main obstacle to sustained productive growth.

Extortionist unions against the country's future
Meanwhile, as the National Congress prepares to debate modern laws, the most combative sectors threaten a national strike of a political nature. Union leaders such as Rodolfo Aguiar and Pablo Moyano coordinate forceful measures under the excuse of protecting rights that in practice only they enjoy. Argentine society is increasingly less tolerant of these abuses by groups that use fear to perpetuate a labor system that has already failed.
Wednesday's call plans to march to the headquarters of the local CGT on Vélez Sarsfield Street 137, where a central rally will be held at noon, uselessly. On social media, these organizations seek to add students and social groups to amplify a demand that lacks real technical support. "This is not modernization, this is a century of regression for workers," the leaders claim, ignoring that their model is the one that destroyed employment.
In contrast to the productive sectors that are committed to investment, state unions such as ATE will carry out an extortionist 24-hour strike. Milei's government is rightly promoting a flexibility that the country needs in order to emerge from the deep crisis caused by decades of Kirchnerism. Córdoba must not be held hostage by these violent minorities that prefer to sink the province completely rather than accept that their archaic system has reached its long-awaited end.
