Last Friday, Mario Pergolini surprised everyone by publicly acknowledging a violent episode he was involved in decades ago against Marcela Tauro.
The confession took place during an interview with Ángel De Brito on Bondi TV, where the host was directly asked about an old fight with the journalist.
"Is it true that you tried to grab Tauro by the neck? I suppose it was at Lucho's place..." De Brito asked. Pergolini, far from dodging the question, decided to recount in detail for the first time how that scandal, which still echoes in the entertainment world, unfolded.
According to his account, everything happened in the mid-nineties, when he was beginning to gain notoriety on television.
"I remember we were watching TV at home with my wife, and Marcela appeared saying something about me on a show. I was 26 or 27 years old, and suddenly she said something outrageous. I looked at my wife and said, 'I'll be right back.' I went straight to Canal 9, I got in because I worked there, and the first thing I did when I saw her was go straight at her. It came from deep inside me. I said, 'I'll kill her right here,'" he recalled.
Although the situation did not escalate because other people intervened, Pergolini admitted that at that moment he tried to choke his colleague and that everything ended in shouting and a heated confrontation.

The confession from the former CQC host brought the rumors from that time back into the spotlight. On SQP (América TV), Pepe Ochoa provided a key detail: what Tauro allegedly said on air was that the host had an intimate relationship with his sister-in-law.
"What Marcela said was that Pergolini was with his sister-in-law. What Mario said afterward is that when he found out, he was hugging his wife. But the person Tauro pointed to would be precisely that sister-in-law," the panelist explained.
This detail caused even more commotion, as it adds a new nuance to Pergolini's excessive reaction, who stated that he lost control at that moment.
