The trial began for a young man accused of killing his employer on a farm in Cordoba.
The process is being conducted with a jury trial and could result in a life sentence
This Friday, the trial began against Héctor Raúl Segovia, accused of murdering his employer on a farm in the northeastern part of the province in November 2023. The defendant, 23 years old, faces charges of aggravated homicide due to treachery and is the only suspect in the crime. The proceedings are being held at the San Francisco Criminal Court with the participation of lay jurors.
The victim was Gaspar Esteban Bosco, a 32-year-old rural producer from Sacanta, found dead in the El Arañado area, in the San Justo department, Córdoba. The body showed multiple stab wounds and signs consistent with a defensive response to the attack. The discovery occurred just a few meters from the victim's pickup truck, which helped guide the investigation.
The investigation pointed to Segovia, who was employed by the producer and was arrested shortly after the incident, identified as the only person involved. The defendant is originally from Chaco and had moved to Córdoba for work, employed on Bosco's farm. At the time of the crime, he was living in a house owned by the victim's family.

The employment relationship as a possible motive for the crime
The prosecutor of Las Varillas, Cecilia Dupraz, is leading the investigation and stated that the crime could be linked to labor conflicts. According to the information collected, the professional relationship between the victim and the defendant may have triggered the attack. The crime for which he is being tried carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
The trial began at 9 a.m. this Friday and is expected to proceed with the presentation of key evidence. The legal charge Segovia faces is aggravated homicide due to treachery, an aggravating factor that increases criminal responsibility. The court will determine in the coming days the degree of the defendant's guilt based on the evidence gathered.
During the trial, witness testimonies will also be heard that may provide information about the relationship between the two men. The investigation seeks to precisely establish the context and mechanics of the incident that occurred on November 3. Segovia remains in custody and will be tried under the lay jury system established in the province.
