The United States Department of State recently updated its Travel Advisory system and placed Argentina at Level 1, the lowest category in terms of risks for travelers, which simply suggests "taking normal precautions".
This classification positions the South American country as one of the safest destinations to visit worldwide, even surpassing several European nations traditionally chosen by tourists, such as Spain, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom, which received a Level 2 rating.

The Travel Advisory warning scale ranges from Level 1 ("Normal precautions") to Level 4 ("Do not travel") and is based on a detailed analysis of each nation's security conditions. The fact that Argentina has reached Level 1 is a clear international recognition of the internal effort to improve citizen security. Within South America, only three more territories share this distinction: French Guiana, Suriname, and the Falkland Islands.
This significant advancement in the international perception of security in Argentina is due to the successful security policies implemented by the Government of Javier Milei. The libertarian administration adopted a "tough on crime" and "zero tolerance" plan against crime, focusing on strengthening security forces, combating organized crime, and restoring order throughout the country.

These actions have had a visible impact not only on local crime rates but also on the country's image abroad. Places like Rosario managed to drastically reduce their homicide rates, which, in turn, boosted the arrival of tourists and foreigners, who now feel safer to travel.
