The United States rated Argentina as one of the safest countries to travel to.
This level places the country as one of the safest destinations to visit, surpassing even several European nations
The United States Department of State recently updated its Travel Advisory system and placed Argentina at Level 1, the lowest category in terms of risks for travelers, which simply suggests "taking normal precautions".
This classification positions the South American country as one of the safest destinations to visit worldwide, even surpassing several European nations traditionally chosen by tourists, such as Spain, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom, which received a Level 2 rating.

The Travel Advisory warning scale ranges from Level 1 ("Normal precautions") to Level 4 ("Do not travel") and is based on a detailed analysis of each nation's security conditions. The fact that Argentina has reached Level 1 is a clear international recognition of the internal effort to improve citizen security. Within South America, only three more territories share this distinction: French Guiana, Suriname, and the Falkland Islands.
This significant advancement in the international perception of security in Argentina is due to the successful security policies implemented by the Government of Javier Milei. The libertarian administration adopted a "tough on crime" and "zero tolerance" plan against crime, focusing on strengthening security forces, combating organized crime, and restoring order throughout the country.

These actions have had a visible impact not only on local crime rates but also on the country's image abroad. Places like Rosario managed to drastically reduce their homicide rates, which, in turn, boosted the arrival of tourists and foreigners, who now feel safer to travel.
Meanwhile, the mentioned European countries, despite being major tourist hubs, are at Level 2, which implies that travelers must "exercise increased caution" due to threats such as petty crime, violent demonstrations, or risk of attacks.
Argentina's favorable classification comes at a key moment for its tourism sector, which seeks to attract more international visitors to boost the economy. Having the backing of an entity like the U.S. Department of State not only generates confidence among travelers but also reaffirms the country's commitment to improving its internal security and international projection.

What do the Travel Advisory levels mean?
Level 1: Take normal precautions. It is the lowest warning level. It is recognized that all international travel involves some risk, but there are no specific relevant threats.
Level 2: Exercise increased caution. It is recommended to be alert to greater security risks. The Department of State provides additional advice for these cases.
Level 3: Reconsider travel. It warns of serious risks that could compromise travelers' safety.
Level 4: Do not travel. It indicates an extreme threat to life. It is suggested to even have legal documents prepared before embarking on a trip to these destinations.
