The arrest of Ayelén Agustina Soplan, a young attorney of 26 years old linked to the inner circle of Morena Rial, shook Partido de La Costa. She is accused of being part of a gang that allegedly committed at least three robberies at homes under the escruche method.
The case is investigating two incidents in Costa del Este and one in Aguas Verdes. The case became public after the victims' testimonies and the details revealed by news programs.

From the connection with Morena Rial to the judicial investigation
According to DDM (América TV), Soplan had gained visibility due to her frequent presence at Magdalena Prison, where she visited Morena Rial. Journalist Martín Candalaft indicated that she was considered one of the media personality's most trusted people.
In that role, she also reportedly acted as a liaison with the media. She conveyed information about Rial's legal situation, her health status, and her intention to reunite with her son.
The confusion over the address and another arrest
At first it was reported that Soplan had offered her house for a possible house arrest. However, it was later clarified that this address belonged to Evelyn Martínez, another person in Morena Rial's circle.
Martínez was also arrested in the context of the investigation, which reinforced the hypothesis of an organized structure behind the robberies.
The testimony of a victim in Costa del Este
The case became even more concrete with the account of Rubén, one of the victims, live on TN. On Sunday night he found his vacation home forced open and ransacked after having gone out for a few hours.

"The door and the balcony window were open, clothes were thrown everywhere, and we were missing cash," he recounted. The robbery occurred while the home was empty.
How the police operation unfolded
Rubén called 911 immediately and a patrol car arrived within minutes, Forensic Police worked at the scene, and officers told him to file a report at the police station. There he learned that people had already been arrested for the incident. According to his testimony, the thieves were looking for money: "There were dollars and cash, but they left the television", he explained.
The home did not have an alarm system, and neighborhood cameras reportedly recorded suspicious movements. Rubén even recalled a police operation in the area that same night.
