Laura Ubfal has reportedly been suspended from the panel of Gran Hermano Generación Dorada, the reality show that airs on Telefe. The decision was made after the journalist openly questioned the format and production of the program.
The information was revealed by Paula Varela on Lape Club Social Informativo, on América TV. She stated that “at this hour, Laura Ubfal is suspended from the program” and that the anger of Martín Borrillo and Santiago del Moro “is very great this time.”
According to Varela, the panelist will not return until Santiago del Moro decides. “They keep telling me: there’s a month left until the program ends, so we’ll see what they do. She won’t come back until Santiago wants,” she explained.
The journalist also pointed out that Ubfal has been denouncing that the format “is dirty, that it is not transparent, that everything is manipulated” and that “the things that happen on air are not real.”
Laura Ubfal's Response
This Thursday, August 6, after receiving a legal notice and facing criticism from La Tora and Eliana Guercio, Laura Ubfal spoke on the show La Linterna and questioned her continuity on the reality show.
“I am very down. The only thing I have in this profession that I have been doing for years is my credibility. You believe me and I thank you for that; it is the only card a journalist has when there are no envelopes,” she stated.
Ubfal acknowledged that many people see her as a “champion of Justice” and that she feels deceived or scammed. However, she clarified: “This is Gran Hermano, everything you think is not like that. Obviously, there can be plays and moves because this is a television production.”
The panelist recalled that before the gala and the voting, they showed the plot against Juani Car, and emphasized that she is not the one who should administer justice: “I am not Justice, guys. I appreciate the credibility, but I cannot do it, nor is there a reason to do it because it is a game.”
The Cost of Staying on the Show
In her response, Ubfal admitted that it is very difficult for her to continue with this edition and that the production knows it. “It is very difficult for me to move forward with this edition, and the production knows it,” she confirmed.
She also referred to the dynamics of the panel and the atmosphere that is generated outside the house. “I am not interested in the rest of the panelists being against me. The game is not outside the house; it is inside. I would love to be able to say, take out, put in, but I am not the one,” she expressed.
Regarding the tone that the program sometimes adopts, she was clear: “Malice, arrogance, throwing everything overboard, speaking ill of people, I do not like it.” She added that a Gran Hermano should not have to go that far.
Finally, she referred to the legal notice she received without naming names. “Well, nothing, nonsense that I feel like saying because I received a legal notice. From whom? I’m not going to tell you. From a player, it turns out that it is a player who is locked in a house,” she concluded, and called it ridiculous that one cannot talk about someone who signed a contract knowing that their life would be exposed.
