The province of Buenos Aires is unlivable. Now Mariana Brey shared on the show A la Barbarossa the distressing episode of insecurity she experienced in recent hours. The journalist and panelist of the Telefe program stated that she had to run desperately to ask for help from neighbors after noticing that two men on a motorcycle were heading towards her.

The incident occurred around three-thirty in the afternoon, when Brey left her job and drove her truck to a gym class. While talking on the phone with Paulo Kablan, another panelist present at the table, she noticed strange movement. Two people on a motorcycle stopped in the middle of the street and began to look around.

According to her account, everything happened very quickly. She got out of the vehicle and, as she went to the back seat, noticed in the mirrors that one of them was backing up towards her, took off his helmet, and jumped in her direction. At that moment, she reacted immediately.

Her first response was to run screaming and knock on a nearby metal gate. She left all her belongings on the truck and, with her high heels on, started shouting that they wanted to rob her. She estimated that she ran about a block in that desperate sprint.

The real risk and the neighborhood's response

Mariana pointed out a detail that heightened the severity of the episode: the man who jumped towards her was armed. That information gave dimension to the danger she was exposed to in just a few seconds.

The journalist's reaction mobilized those nearby. Kids from the car wash and several neighbors came out. One of them even appeared armed. In response to that, the two criminals chose to flee, and the robbery attempt did not materialize.

After the scare, Brey confessed that she was left with tachycardia and had a very bad night. She said she started to think about everything that could have happened and that possibility scares her a lot.

Her program colleagues recommended that she file a formal complaint at the corresponding police station so that the incident would not go unpunished. The journalist took the advice and reflected on the general situation of insecurity that the country is going through.

A compelling conclusion

In closing her testimony, Mariana Brey summarized the feeling of vulnerability with a phrase that resonated in the studio: “We are in God's hands.” The comment reflected the indignation and helplessness that the episode generated in her.

The journalist shared her own first-person experience and described in detail the sequence of events she lived through upon arriving at the place where she was going to train.

Brey's story adds to other testimonies circulating in the media about robbery attempts in broad daylight, even in residential areas. In her case, the quick reaction and immediate help from neighbors prevented a worse outcome.

The panelist of Georgina Barbarossa made it clear that the scare was not minor and that the physical and emotional consequences were felt for hours. The episode, although thwarted, left a mark that she did not hesitate to share with the public.
