Thomas Müller praised Boca ahead of their clash in the Club World Cup.

The German forward highlighted the matchup with Xeneize in what will be his last tournament as a Bayern Munich player

In ten days, Boca and Bayern Munich will officially face each other for the first time since the 2001 Intercontinental Cup. Before that highly anticipated clash, both teams will make their debut in the Club World Cup, Xeneize against Benfica and the Bavarians against Auckland City. Ahead of the match, Thomas Müller left a message for Boca.

The German forward confirmed in an open letter to the fans that the Club World Cup will be his last competition with Bayern, a club he joined 25 years ago, with which he has won 33 titles and where he will seek to close his cycle by adding one more.

"Soon we'll travel to America for the Club World Cup, my last tournament as an FC Bayern player. There are several things I'm looking forward to; a highlight will be the match against Boca Juniors in Miami," wrote Müller.

He added: "As a European player, you normally don't have the opportunity to play against clubs with such tradition. It makes a footballer's heart race."

This isn't the first time Müller has mentioned Boca as one of the most anticipated moments of this competition. In March, the forward had already expressed his excitement: "It'll be unbelievable to play against Boca Juniors. As a fan, I know a lot about Argentine football from television and the internet," he had stated.

Müller will play the Club World Cup and then leave Bayern

When it was announced that Thomas Müller would leave Bayern Munich after 25 years at the club, it was thought that his farewell would be on the last matchday of the Bundesliga, a tournament he won for the thirteenth time. However, the 35-year-old forward will be present at the Club World Cup before deciding his future.

So far, Müller has played 751 matches wearing Bayern's jersey, in which he has scored 248 goals and provided 274 assists. His record includes 33 titles, among them 13 Bundesligas, 2 Champions Leagues, 2 Club World Cups, and 2 UEFA Super Cups. The remaining 14 titles correspond to the German Cup and Super Cup.
