Córdoba: a complete closure on Costanera Norte complicates traffic for a week
Starting this Wednesday, it will not be possible to drive on a key section due to patching and road repair work
Starting this Wednesday, the city of Córdoba is experiencing a new complete closure of vehicular traffic. This time, the interruption affects Costanera Norte at the height of Obispo Videla del Pino, a road used daily by thousands of drivers. The measure will last for one week, according to information from the Municipality.
The closure is due to patching and repair work as part of the road maintenance plan. The works began with heavy machinery from the early hours of the day and require a complete closure of that section. Although these are necessary works, the total interruption causes delays and congestion during key hours.
Officials from Palacio 6 de Julio indicated that the duration of the closure will depend on the pace of the work and weather conditions. Nevertheless, the closure for so many days on such a busy artery represents a new point of conflict for daily traffic. Merchants and residents of the area also expressed concern about the decrease in foot traffic.

Alternative detours during the closure
Given the complete interruption of traffic on Costanera Norte, the Municipality has implemented a detour plan. For those wishing to continue toward downtown, the suggested route is:
Obispo Videla del Pino → Baracaldo → Julián Paz → Costanera Norte.
Meanwhile, those traveling on Emilio Caraffa must take:
Obispo Videla del Pino → Juan Posse → Emilio Caraffa.
These routes aim to ease congestion, although they do not fully compensate for the closure of such a heavily used road, especially during peak hours. The detour forces drivers to enter narrower streets with heavier neighborhood traffic. This could result in new delays or additional complications.

Recommendations for driving in the area
The municipality recommends driving with caution, especially at the authorized alternative crossings. In addition, they ask that drivers follow the instructions of the traffic personnel stationed near the closure.
They also suggest planning routes in advance to avoid long delays. The interruption is part of the urban maintenance plan, although the negative impact on traffic once again raises the debate about the need to improve road planning.
