The Argentine automotive market is preparing for one of the strongest moves of the year: the arrival of the Toyota Yaris Cross. This new compact SUV from the Japanese brand will be officially launched in February 2026 at all dealerships in the country.
The model will mark Toyota's entry into the competitive B-SUV segment, which currently represents more than 17% of sales in Argentina. In addition, it will be the brand's first hybrid in this category.

A key launch for Toyota in the region
The Yaris Cross will arrive at a strategic moment: the conventional Yaris has just surpassed 10 million units produced globally and leads domestic sales during 2025. Toyota projects that half of the new model's sales will correspond to hybrid variants.
The SUV targets both those looking to enter the brand for the first time and those who already drive a Toyota.
Design and main features of the Toyota Yaris Cross
The Yaris Cross adopts a robust design and a high stance typical of SUVs. Its standout elements include:
17” wheels (XLI) and 18” wheels (XEI and SEG).
Double trapezoidal grille, gloss black details, and LED fog lights starting from XEI.
Roof rails, black side moldings, and full-LED rear lights.

Interior equipment and technology
The cabin features a horizontal architecture that enhances the sense of spaciousness. The equipment includes:
Fabric upholstery (XLI and XEI) or eco-leather (SEG).
Panoramic roof in the SEG version.
Instrument cluster with 7” TFT display starting from XEI.
USB-C ports and air vents for the rear seats.
Trunk capacity of 400 liters (105.7 gallons) in gasoline versions and 391 liters (103.3 gallons) in hybrids.
The multimedia center is 10” with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SEG versions add a 360° camera, and XEI versions include a wireless charger.

Available engines for the Toyota Yaris Cross
1.5 VVT-i gasoline engine with 106 hp
Available in XLI, XEI, and SEG. It is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and Eco and Power modes. The certified fuel consumption is 6.0 l/100 km (39.2 mpg) in combined use.
Hybrid version with 111 hp
Available in XEI Hybrid and SEG Hybrid. It combines a 1.5 Atkinson cycle engine with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery, paired with an e-CVT transmission. It reports 3.9 l/100 km (60.3 mpg) in mixed use.
Safety: Toyota Safety Sense standard on all versions
The new Yaris Cross incorporates the Toyota Safety Sense package, which includes:
Pre-collision system (PCS).
Full-speed adaptive cruise control (ACC).
Lane departure alert and assistance (LDA and LTA).

Accessories, colors, and warranty
The Yaris Cross will offer more than 50 official accessories and a palette of seven colors. Like the entire line-up, it will be eligible for the Toyota 10 program, which extends the warranty up to 10 years or 200,000 km (124,274 miles), including the hybrid system.
