Toyota introduced the Yaris Cross XR, the entry-level version of its new B-segment SUV. The model was launched in Brazil and stands out for a lower level of equipment.
It is a more affordable alternative within the family. It only offers a gasoline engine and omits some driving assistance features.

This version was officially presented in Brazil. In a first stage, it will be intended for people with disabilities.
Additionally, the brand announced that starting in February it will be available for rent through the Kinto service. Starting in April, it will arrive at dealerships in the neighboring country.
What is happening with Yaris Cross in Argentina
In the Argentine market, Yaris Cross will be launched in February: the line-up has already been confirmed. It will be composed of the XLI, XEI, and SEG versions. It will offer the 1.5 gasoline engine with 106 hp and a 111 hp hybrid variant.

This is the most affordable version
Yaris Cross XR could anticipate some features of the local XLI version. On the exterior, it includes 17-inch alloy wheels. It also adds front and rear LED lights, and the design keeps the model's identity.

Inside, it offers a 10-inch touchscreen, and connectivity is wireless with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It includes a multifunction steering wheel, fabric upholstery, and push-button start. The air conditioning has rear vents.

Safety: what it has and what it lacks
In terms of safety, it features six airbags, stability and traction control, ABS, and hill-start assist.
It doesn't incorporate advanced driver assistance systems, such as autonomous emergency braking.
Engine and transmission
The entry-level version is offered only with the 1.5 gasoline engine. In Brazil, it delivers up to 122 hp thanks to the use of ethanol.
