The amounts of the fines applied by the Córdoba Highway Police to penalize drivers who commit violations have been reduced.
Since last Monday, a reduction in the value of the Fixed Fine Unit (UF) has been confirmed, as a consequence of the drop in the price of a liter of YPF super gasoline.

Thus, the UF went from $1,696 to $1,631, which represents a 3.8% decrease compared to the previous month.
This update directly affects the entire penalty scheme.
Córdoba Highway Police fines have been reduced
In the case of the most common fines, such as not driving with headlights on (serious violation), the cost went from $340,000 to a maximum of $326,400.
Meanwhile, violations considered maximum (such as document tampering or high levels of blood alcohol) now have a cap of $3,262,000, decreasing significantly compared to the amounts in force in mid-December.
The amounts for each violation according to the Highway Police
Minor (Smoking while driving): From 20 to 100 UF. The cost ranges from $32,620 to $163,100, with a deduction of up to 2 points from the license.
Serious (Headlights off): From 100 to 200 UF. The amounts range from $163,100 to $326,400, with a loss of 2 to 5 points.
Very Serious (Running a red light, driving the wrong way, or speeding): From 200 to 400 UF. The penalties range from $326,400 to $652,800, and drivers can lose up to 20 points from the license.
Maximum (Positive blood alcohol test or destruction of infrastructure): From 1,200 to 2,000 UF. The amounts start at $1,957,200 and reach $3,262,000. In these cases, in addition to the financial fine, a driving disqualification is applied and, in specific situations, criminal charges are filed.
