The president confirmed the deployment of United States naval forces that are heading to Iran
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Thursday that his administration is closely watching the Islamic regime that governs Iran for signs that it is killing protesters, further confirming that he has sent a "great armada" toward the region.
Trump declared that he hopes that the U.S. naval fleet heading toward Iran will not be necessary. The president also suggested that tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high amid the Islamic regime's crackdown on anti-government protests.
"We are watching Iran. You know, we have many ships going in that direction just in case. We have a great flotilla in that direction, and we will see what happens", Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One after attending Davos.

Trump halted the executions of hundreds of Iranian opponents
The president stated that he prevented Tehran from carrying out hundreds of public executions of opponents who took part in the protests: "I told them: "If you hang those people, you will be hit harder than ever. It will make what we did with your Iranian nuclear program look like nonsense". And one hour before that horrible event (the executions) was to take place, they canceled it".
"But we have an armada. We have a huge fleet heading in that direction. And maybe we will not have to use it. We will see", continued the Republican leader, who had already destroyed the Iranian nuclear program in a precise attack in June of last year.
Trump threatened Iran with another attack if the regime used deadly force against activists in recent weeks. The marches against the Islamic dictatorship have been so massive that Tehran has maintained an Internet blackout across the country for two weeks, since reports suggest that the Ayatollah's forces have killed thousands.
The U.S. news agency Human Rights Activist News Agency (HRANA) claims to have confirmed the deaths of more than 5,000 people since the mass protests broke out in Iran at the end of December. The human rights group maintained that it is investigating another 10,000 deaths, in addition to nearly 27,000 people since the protests began.
