The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that he will suspend the imposition of tariffs on certain products from Mexico, which are included in the free trade agreement between both countries.
Through his account on Truth Social, the American leader indicated that, after having a conversation with President Claudia Sheinbaum, both agreed that Mexico should not pay tariffs "on anything included in the USMCA Agreement".
However, Trump explained that this measure will be in effect until April 2 and that the decision was made "as a form of adaptation and out of respect for President Sheinbaum".

Additionally, the American head of state highlighted that his relationship with Sheinbaum "has been very good" and that they have worked intensively on border security issues, including actions to "prevent undocumented immigrants from entering the United States".
