Trump suspended tariffs on Mexican products from the USMCA for one month.

This happens after the Mexican president commits to curbing illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that he will suspend the imposition of tariffs on certain products from Mexico, which are included in the free trade agreement between both countries.

Through his account on Truth Social, the American leader indicated that, after having a conversation with President Claudia Sheinbaum, both agreed that Mexico should not pay tariffs "on anything included in the USMCA Agreement".

However, Trump explained that this measure will be in effect until April 2 and that the decision was made "as a form of adaptation and out of respect for President Sheinbaum".

He also mentioned the joint efforts in the fight against fentanyl trafficking: "Thank you, President Sheinbaum, for your hard work and cooperation!", Trump concluded in his message on Truth Social.

During the conversation, they agreed that their "work and collaboration have yielded unprecedented results", always respecting the sovereignty of both countries.

The President of Mexico emphasized that they will continue to advance on key issues such as immigration and border security, with a particular focus on the "reduction of illegal fentanyl crossing into the United States, as well as arms into Mexico".

"As President Trump mentions, Mexico will not be required to pay tariffs on all products within the USMCA. This agreement is until April 2, when the United States will announce reciprocal tariffs for all countries", Sheinbaum noted in her post on X.
