Trump to senators: Cut funding to NPR and PBS or lose my support
The president's efforts are focused on defunding NPR and CBS, two state-run media outlets that have been taken over by Democratic activists
President Donald Trump threatened this Friday the senators from his party who intend to vote against a law that defunds NPR and PBS, two state-owned media outlets that carry an evidentDemocratic bias.
The House of Representatives, which has a slim Republican majority, approved the bill with a vote of 214 in favor and 212 against. The bill is expected to be voted on by the Senate next week.
"It's very important that all Republicans align with my spending cuts bill, and in particular, that they eliminate funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (PBS and NPR), which are worse than CNN and MSDNC combined,"Trump posted on Truth Social.
"Any Republican who votes to allow this monstrosity to stay on the air will not have my support or my endorsement. Thank you for your attention!" the president concluded.
The pressure comes as a response to a move by a small number of moderate Republican senators who seek to amend the law and continue funding—to a lesser extent—these state-owned media outlets.

Trump's chainsaw plan reaches state-owned media
As part of his campaign to reduce public spending, the current president presented a bill in Congress that would save the federal government more than 9 billion dollars. In that public spending bill, there are multi-million dollar cuts that would limit the operation of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
This organization was created as a non-profit by Congress in 1967 to support radio and cable stations in the interior of the United States. Since then, the Corporation has given birth to the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR).
Over time, NPR and PBS have lost the impartiality required by law and have become true nests of Democratic propaganda. Despite this, the federal government still funds them and they continue to operate without being held accountable to the public or the State.

NPR and PBS, Democratic propaganda machines
Uri Berline, a former NPR editor for 25 years, wrote an article confirming that the treatment of workers who do not identify with left-wing ideology is so hostile that it forces them to resign from state radio.
In recent years, NPR has accused Trump of being a Russian agent, refused to publish the evidence found onHunter Biden's laptop, and has labeled Republican voters as racists and right-wing conspiracy theorists. All under public funding.
For this reason, the current president signed a decree in May urging the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to stop funding NPR and PBS, alleging that both entities were deeply contaminated.
This decree is now expected to be turned into law shortly.
