The U.S. Embassy supported and praised Javier Milei's government.

At AmCham Summit 2025, the reforms were praised and the enthusiasm of companies to invest in Argentina was highlighted

In a complete show of support, the United States Embassyin  Argentina  publicly recognized the advances of Javier Milei's government, and highlighted the growing interest of the American private sector in investing in the country. The gesture was made during the AmCham Summit 2025, held in Buenos Aires, where the embassy's chargé d'affaires, Abigail Dressel, offered emphatic support for the economic shift driven by the Casa Rosada.

"As you well know, President Milei is implementing a radical change in Argentina's economic policy regarding fiscal policy, monetary policy, and exchange rate policy," Dressel stated, noting that these transformations are already generating "significant improvements in the climate for trade and investment."

In a room filled with business and diplomatic leaders, Dressel highlighted that the "current situation of the relationship between Argentina and the United States" offers unprecedented opportunities for both countries. She especially thanked the United States Chamber of Commerce in Argentina (AmCham) for its key role as a bridge in the strengthening of bilateral ties.

The diplomat's words were not an isolated gesture. They are part of a broader strategy of support for the reform process being carried out by the Argentine government. Proof of this is the recent visit of the United States Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessant, on April 14. During his visit to Buenos Aires, Bessant met with President Milei and the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, to express the Biden administration's direct support. "I have come here to convey the United States' optimism for a new Argentina," the official stated.

Official enthusiasm is also reflected in the business sector. Dressel confirmed that in recent months, four American trade missions have arrived in the country, a clear sign of growing investment interest. "At the Embassy, we no longer just deal with solving daily problems. We are matchmakers, connectors, bringing together American companies with local partners," she explained.

In this context, the official called for strengthening dialogue with the diplomatic headquarters in Buenos Aires: "We would like to understand your perspectives, commercial promotion between our countries is a high priority for us." She also emphasized that "you[the entrepreneurs]are our partners in maintaining the ties between our countries," recognizing the leading role of the private sector in this stage of cooperation.

Dressel stated that more than 300 American companies are operating in the country | La Derecha Diario

According to official data provided by Dressel, the United States is currently the main source of foreign direct investment in Argentina. More than 300 American companies have a presence in the country, many of them for over a century, which demonstrates—she said—"their long-term commitment to Argentina's economic development and growth."

"We celebrate these companies with a long history here and look toward a future. A future that we hope will be different from the past," she expressed, in a politically charged phrase aimed at leaving behind years of stagnation, regulatory hurdles, and institutional uncertainty.

The support is not limited to the economic sphere. Dressel mentioned that bilateral cooperation expands to multiple strategic areas: "We have important and active collaboration with the Argentine Government on issues such as defense, security, including cybersecurity, and space commerce," she detailed.

She also emphasized the articulation with Argentine provinces. In recent months, embassy representatives visited San Juan, Neuquén, and Rosario, exploring opportunities in sectors such as mining, oil, and regional development.  "The potential of mining can change the economic landscape for the region," she highlighted after her visit to western Argentina.

"The great potential that exists for opportunities" was one of the most notable factors in those visits, Dressel indicated, clearly alluding to an economic federalism that, in her view, can benefit both Argentina and American companies.

Since 2024, investment interest has been on the rise. "We have observed a significant increase in the level of interest in American companies," the chargé d'affaires assured, and encouraged entrepreneurs to "turn this interest into action, into investment, and into the presence of more American companies here in Argentina."
