Javier Milei at Amcham: 'Those who bet on Argentina will come out winning'

The president was part of the meeting organized by the United States Chamber of Commerce in Argentina

The president Javier Milei participated in a meeting organized by the United States Chamber of Commerce in Argentina (Amcham). The event brought together business leaders, government officials, and members of the third sector, focusing on the need to adopt competitiveness as a permanent axis of public policy.

At the beginning of his presentation, Milei commented with an ironic tone that he had little voice because “things happened,” jokingly alluding to the celebrations for the great electoral victory on Sunday of La Libertad Avanza in the City of Buenos Aires.

During his speech, he reviewed the main economic guidelines of his administration and stated that “Argentina is an excellent business case,” adding: “Those who bet on Argentina will come out winning.”

He also highlighted the work of the Ministry of Deregulation, led by Federico Sturzenegger, noting that it “makes life easier for people and boosts growth.” He later stated: “We aim for economic growth. We have carried out 2000 reforms in 500 days, we are 20 times more reformist than the entire Menem government.”

Next, the president focused on the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI) and announced that the country is about to approve a major mining project under this scheme. “Caputo confirmed to me that a mining company entered a RIGI for 2 billion dollars, meaning it is working,” he stated.

In one of the most significant moments of his speech, Milei emphasized that “Argentina is one of the five countries that has a surplus in the financial line.” And he added with emphasis: “Therefore, sooner or later, the interest rate will collapse because the country risk will plummet.”

The day included presentations from key figures such as the Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo; the Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos; and the Mayor of the City, Jorge Macri. The governors Alfredo Cornejo, Ignacio Torres, Rogelio Frigerio, and Maximiliano Pullaro also spoke.
